At SUP we are on a mission to not just improve the health of people but the health of the planet.
OUR CURRENT SUSTAINABILITY PRACTICES
RECYCLABLE PACKAGING In 2019, we transitioned our entire range to 100% recyclable packaging. It was really important to us that consumers were able to consciously discard of our packaging after use.
85% LESS PLASTIC We most recently launched recyclable vitamin pouches that use 85% less plastic than a vitamin jar. We were astounded to find out that in Australia a shocking 88% of plastic is not recycled. And so this concept was born out of the need to not just recycle waste but to reduce it all together. This was a really big moment for us as it was an Australian first for the vitamin category. At SUP we want to lead the change and encourage others to follow.
INGREDIENTS Traceability and transparency is of the utmost importance to us. We are continually working with our suppliers to ensure we have the most sustainable source of each ingredient.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD
BIODEGRADABLE & COMPOSTABLE PACKAGING We are currently researching and testing the stability of compostable and biodegradable packaging. We would love this to be the next evolution in our SUP packaging. Due to the porous nature of natural materials, we need to undertake extensive testing to ensure our product maintain their efficacy. Stay tuned…
100% RECYCLED PLASTIC Where we do not yet have an alternative to plastic, such as the lids to our jars, we want to eliminate virgin plastic entirely. All plastic materials will be made from 100% recycled plastic.
100% RENEWABLE BY 2050 SUPs is committed to sourcing 100% renewable electricity by 2050.
LEAD THE CHANGE We are venturing in unchartered waters in many respects. Our industry is not typically environmentally conscious. We are hoping to lead the change and with the support of our customers and business partners we hope other businesses will follow in paving the way to a more sustainable future.
